Free community training will equip Cleveland residents with practical skills to respond to life-threatening bleeding emergencies.

CLEVELAND, Ohio, September 8, 2026 — Save Our Families will host a free Stop the Bleed Training in partnership with Case EMS on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Save Our Families community office, 4394 Pearl Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44109.

The training is part of Save Our Families’ continued investment in community care, emergency preparedness, and practical education that gives residents the skills and confidence to respond when someone is experiencing a life-threatening emergency.

Severe bleeding can become fatal within minutes. Stop the Bleed training teaches everyday people how to recognize life-threatening bleeding, respond quickly, and use proven techniques to help control bleeding until professional emergency medical care arrives.

The training will be led by Case EMS and is designed for community members regardless of previous medical or emergency response experience.

It is also about making sure our neighbors have the knowledge, resources, and confidence to respond when something happens right in front of them,” said Kristy F. Building a More Prepared Community

The October event is not intended to be a one-time training. Save Our Families plans to host additional Stop the Bleed trainings, expanding opportunities for residents, families, volunteers, community organizations, and other local partners to learn emergency response skills. The initiative builds upon Save Our Families’ community care model, which emphasizes placing practical resources, education, prevention tools, and support directly into the hands of community members.

Through partnerships and accessible training opportunities, Save Our Families aims to help move emergency preparedness beyond hospitals and traditional professional settings and into neighborhoods, workplaces, community organizations, and households. Participants who are unable to attend the October 1 session are encouraged to follow Save Our Families for announcements regarding future training dates.
